Karl Bechtold, 83, of Herreid died in a Bismarck hospital Friday. He was attacked by hiccoughs and due to advanced age, complications caused his death. One daughter, Mrs. Leonhart Deibert and many grandchildren survive. His wife died two years ago.

Services for Alexander Berreth, 68, will be April 12 at the First Congregational church in Herried. Rev. James Comer will officiate. Burial in Fairview cemetery. He died Wednesday at the Eureka hopsital of a heart attack. He was born Nov. 23, 1907 near Herreid. He married Amanda Fuehrer, Oct. 12, 1939 at Mound City,

Survivors are his wife, 1 daughter, Mrs. Lester (Beverly) Goehring of Herried, 4 sisters, Mrs. John (Pauline) Pudwill of Herreid, Mrs. Edward (Martha) Mitzel of Mound City, Miss Olivia Berreth of Aberdeen and Mrs. George (Sally) Morrison of Lodi, Caif. and 1 grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother.

Services for Philip Berreth, 84, who died, Oct. 6, 1964 in the Herreid hospital, were Friday in the Herreid Baptist church. Rev. Iver Walker officiated. Burial in the Fairview cemetery.

He was born Oct. 20, 1879 in Mina. He married Katherina Bischke of Artas, Dec. 27, 1900. She died in 1958.

Survivors are 4 sons, Theodore of Oregon City, Oregon., Ernest of Hingham, Mont., Edwin of Seal Rock, Ore., and Benjamin of Mobridge, 5 daughters, Mrs. August (Christina) Pudwill of Herreid, Mrs. Wallace (Susan) Miller of West Linn, Ore., Mrs. William (Hilda) Hesse of Milton-Freewater, Ore., Mrs. Irvin (Alma) Helm of Lodi, Calif., and Mrs. Eugene (Loretta) Quenzer of Pierre, 2 brothers and 4 sisters.

Fred Bickel, 73, died at his home Saturday. Survivors are his wife, 2 brothers, John in Wash. and Henry in Hillside, Mont., 1 daughter, Mrs. Andres Huber of Herreid, 5 sons, John of Onamis, Minn., Fred of Trail City, Martin, George and Ernest of Herreid.

Services will be at the Baptist church Thursday. Rev. Knaus and Rev. Hoffer will officiate.

BICKEL, Jacob & Christina Nov. 6, 1980, Mrs. Jacob Bickel

Services for Mrs. Christina Bickel, 86, were Wednesday at the Herreid First Congregational church. Rev. Douglas Barrows officiated. Burial in Fairview cemetery. She died Nov. 2, 1980 at the Mobridge hospital.

She was born April 26, 1894 to George and Christina (Fuchs) Heyd near Odessa, South Russia. In 1900 she came to the United States with her parents. On Jam. 25, 1913 she married Jacob Bickel at his home near Herreid.

Survivors are 1 daughter, Mrs. Edna Kurle of Mobridge, 1 grandchild, 5 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren and 1 sister, Mrs. Amelia Hepper of Meridian, Idaho.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Nov. 2, 1975, 1 son, Eugene in infancy and 1 sister, Mrs. John (Kathryn) Fuhrman.

Services for Mrs. Katie Bickel, 71, of Mobridge, were Sept. 15 at the Herreid Baptist church. Rev. Edward Kopf and Rev. David S. Jones Jr. officiated. Burial in the Fairview cemetery. SHe died Spt. 11, 1976 at the Mobridge hospital.

She was born Feb. 15, 1905 near Herreid. She married Martin Bickel at Herreid June 9, 1930.

Survivors are her husband, 1 son Royal H. of Hilton Head Island, S.C., 3 daughters, Mrs. Matthew (LaVaun) Seiler of Herreid, Mrs. Curtis (Irene) Clemens of Northville, and Mrs. Jerry (Geraldine) Mannie of St. Paul, Minn., 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, 1 brother, Jake G. Leidle of Mobridge and 2 sisters, Mrs. Freda Kramlich of Broadus, Mont. and Mrs. Theodore (Lydia) Deibert of Mobridge.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Leidle and 2 brothers, Dave J. in 1947 and Christ in 1959.

Edward Deibert died Monday at his farm home in Gale from a heart attack while putting up hay.

Survivors are his wife, a son 7 and a daughter 12. Burial will be Sunday.

Services were Wednesday at the Herreid Evangelical church for Fred. K. Deibert, 59, who died in the Eureka hospital a few hours after being struck by a car near the John F. Rossow farm. The car was driven by Delano Lang, who was accompanied by his father Jacob Lang. Rev. Rudolph Roeker officiated. Burial in the Fairview cemetery.

He was born Nov. 17, 1898 in Cambell County. He married Magaline Horst of Herreid, Dec. 12, 1920. They had no children.

Survivors are his wife, 4 brothers, Adam K. and Conrad K. of Herreid, Jacob of Medicine Hat, Sask., Canada and Andrew of  Calgary, Alta., Canada, 3 sisters, Mrs. Emma Pauetznick of Mobridge, Mrs. Jacob (Johanna) Gahner of Montpelier, N.D. and Mrs. Earl (Christine) Rossow of Herreid.

Services for Magdalena Deibert, 86, of Herreid were Thursday at the United Methodist church in Selby. Rev. Donald Geiman officiated. Burial in Fairview cemetery at Herreid.

She was born to Mr. and Mrs. John Horst Nov. 29, 1899 in Hoffnungstal, South Russia. SHe came to the U.S. with her patents when she was 3 years old. On Dec. 12, 1920 she married Fred Deibert in Herreid. Her husband died in 1958.

Survivors are 2 sisters, Helen Maier of Baker, Mont., and Christine Merkel of Mobridge. She was preceded in death by her husband, 2 sisters, 2 brothers and her parents.

The death of Conrad Deibert, former Campbell County resident, who died at the Eureka hospital last Thursday, folled that of his brother, Leonhardt by 1 day. Leonhardt at the State Hospital July 12, 1944.

Services for Richard Gienger, 58, were Wednesday at the Herreid Peace Lutheran church. Rev. Steven Martens officiated. Burial in the Fairview cemetery. He died Spt. 4, 1982 at the University hospital in Minneapolis of cancer.

He was born Dec. 13, 1923 to Edward and Anna Marie (Feickert) Gienger near Long Lake, S.D. He married N. Eileen Johnson, Oct. 15, 1950 at the Frederick, S.D. St. Paul Lutheran church.

Survivors are his wife, a son, Douglas of Minneapolis, a daughter, Mrs. Mark (Myrtis) Vojta of Herreid, 2 grandchildren, 3 brothers, Ludwig of St. Paul, Minn., Reuben of Aberdeen and Benjamin of Pierre, S. D. and Mrs. August (Emma) Rieger of Pierre, S.D.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Gottlieb Heinrich, 75, died at his home in Herreid Friday. He came to this country from South Russia in 1905.

Survivors are his wife and 7 children, Gottlieb Jr., and Mrs. Jacob Schweigerdt of Lodi, Calif., Jacob of Aberdeen, Peter of Vermillion, John of Herreid and Rebecca of McIntosh.

Services were Saturday for Alfred Heinrich, 37, of Herreid, who died Wednesday of a heart condition at the Herreid hospital. Rev. Iver Walker officiated at the First Baptist church in Herreid. Burial in the Fairview cemetery. He was born Sept. 1, 1928 near Mound City.

Survivors are 5 brothers, William of Mobridge, Reuben of Ipswitch, Albert of Minneapolis, Reinhold of Lodi, Calif. and George of Blythe, Calif., 4 sisters, Mrs. Andrew (Lydia) Huber Jr. of Artas, Mrs. Christ (Emma) Naasz of Spokane, Wash., Mrs. Anton (Freda) Sitter of Aberdeen and Mrs. Irvin (Viola) Boschee of Sacramento, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Heinrich, a brother John in 1950 and a sister in infancy.

Services were at the Herreid Baptist church Aug. 3 for Mrs. John Heinrich, 37, who died July 30, 1944 from cancer and dropsy.

Survivors are her husband, a son Alton Kenneth, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Beck, 3 brothers, John and George of Wily City, Wash., and Jacob of Herreid, 3 sisters, Mrs. Rosie Brockel and Mrs. Emil Orth of Herreid and Mrs. Bennie Goehring of Mound City.

She was born at Wilhelmstal, South Russia Jan. 6, 1908 and came with her parents to this country, aged 1. She married John Heinrich April 7, 1932. They had 2 children. A daughter, Cornelia, died in infancy.

John Heinrich, 42, died in a Mobridge hospital from a diabetic condition. Services will be Feb. 27, 1950 at the Herreid Baptist church. Rev. Crombine officiating. Burial in the Fairview cemetery.

He was born to Mr. and Mrs. Wilhelm Heinrich, Oct. 13, 1907 in South Russia. He came to America with his parents in 1907. On April 7, 1932 he married Christina Beck. They had 2 children, 2 of which died in infancy; His wife died July 30, 1944.

Survivors are his son, Alton, his mother, Mrs. Rosina Heinrich of Herreid, 6 brothers, Reinhold of Acampo, Calif., Rueben of Ipswitch, William of Java, Albert, George and Alfred of Herreid, 4 sisters,  Mrs. Lydia Huber of Artas, Mrs. Emma Naasz of Willy City, Wash., Mrs. Fred Sitter of Beebe and Viola at home.

His father died in 1935. An infant sister preceded him in death.

Services for Mrs. Magdalena Huber, 82, of Herreid, were Tuesday at the Herreid Baptist church. Rev. Edward Kopf officiated. Burial in the Fairview cemetery. She died May 28, 1976 a the Herreid Good Samaritan Center.

Magdalena Wilhauer was born Oct. 23, 1893 at Artas. She married Harry Neu Jan. 10, 1914. He died in 1918. She married August Huber Jan. 20, 1919 at Herreid. He died in 1964.

Survivors are 6 daughters, Mrs. Louie (Christine) Kilb of Leola, S.D., Mrs. Louise Fischer of Herreid, Mrs. Raymond (Frieda) Schnele of Gladstone, Ore., Mrs. August (Maggie) Bechtold of Lodi, Calif., Mrs. Wilmer (Minnie) Fischer of Pierre, S.D. and Mrs. Clarence (Elizabeth) Bauer of Herreid, 3 step-sons, Philip Huber of Pierre, John and August Huber of Minneapolis, 2 brothers, George Vilhauer, of Mound City and Benny Vilhauer of Oregon City, Ore., 3 sisters, Mrs. Christina Renz of Herreid, Mrs. Mary Berreth and Mrs. John (Elizabeth) Berreth of Oregon City, Ore., 24 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by both husbands, 1 son, 4 brothers and 2 sisters.

Christine Vilhauer was born April 29, 1897 near Artas. She married August Renz Sr. Dec. 14, 1915 at Herreid.

Survivors are 2 sons, August Jr. of Herreid and Ruben of Mobridge, 3 daughters, Mrs. John (Lizzie) Quenzer and Mrs. Harold (Emma) Berndt of Herreid, and Mrs. Erwin (Lenora) Rau of Java, 1 brother, Bennie in Ore., 1 sister, Mrs. Theodore (Mary) Berreth of Oregon City, Ore., 17 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

Mr. Seibert was born March 9, 1895 at Olivet. He married Rosina Munsch, Nov. 6, 1924 at Mound City.

Survivors are 7 sons, Elmer and Henry of Mound City, George of Herreid, Eugene of Selfy, Willie of Windom, Minn,, Reinhold of Bismarck and David in the Army, 3 daughters, Mrs. Milton (Virginia) Salzer of Herreid, Mrs. Willis (Lydia) Ryckman of Westfield and Mrs. Robert (Janice) Becker of Hettinger, N.D., 3 brothers, Philip of Lodi, Calif., Jake of Bismarck and Alexander of Sterling, N.D.

A week ago Saturday Henry Suess died in Herreid. He was born in Russia in 1866 and came to America with his parents in 1874.
